Capturing Data and Generating Alarms with WinSPC Real-Time Statistical Process Control Software | WinSPC Video

WinSPC offers intuitive Quality data entry and can capture independently from your CMMs, ERP and other sources.

Optimizing manufacturing processes begins with capturing and charting data, and generating real-time alarms based on trends and rule violations in that data.

WinSPC’s Data Collection window is typically setup so that, on its left, users are guided through the capturing of data and, on its right, users interact with real-time charts and alarms.

Operators can be trained on this window in minutes and everything on it is security-controlled.

WinSPC can capture virtually any type of data, including:

  • Quality Measurements such as product dimensions and weights, and functional tests.
  • Process parameters, such as machine performance and environmental data.
  • Attribute checks such as visual inspections and defects.
  • And traceability details in the form of tags, such as lot number, shift, or machine.

And WinSPC captures data from almost any source, including: devices and machines, production systems, and databases and files. WinSPC can automatically prompt these sources on a timer. Or they can be manually prompted by an operator.

As data is captured, it is immediately tested against standard SPC rules or user-defined rules. When trends and violations are detected, one or more alarms are triggered.

These alarms range from: color-coded out-of-control indicators to configurable messages; prompts for assignable causes, corrective actions or notes; automated emails to supervisors;…

…and status updates to connected systems and equipment, enabling machine shutdowns, lot containments, and other responses.

To complement the Data Collection window’s charts and alarms, WinSPC includes dashboards. With dashboards, shop personnel can, in one view, see the status of multiple upstream and downstream operations.

Optimized processes produce the highest quality product for the lowest possible cost.

With flexible data capturing, configurable alarms, and dashboard visualizations, WinSPC provides manufacturers the tools for rapid optimization.

Editorial standards

Fact-checking & editorial guidelines

Every article on advantive.com is written and reviewed against an internal accuracy standard before publication. Here's what that means in practice.

  • Product claims are verified by the brand team that owns the platform.

When an article references InfinityQS, WinSPC, PQ Systems, Pinpoint, ParityFactory, ProPlanner, KiwiPlan, DDI System, VeraCore, or any of Advantive's other specialty platforms, the relevant product team checks technical statements about features, deployment, and current capability before the article goes live.

  • External statistics cite their source inline.

When an article references industry survey results, regulatory benchmarks, or third-party research, the source is linked at the point of citation. Statements without an inline source link are first-party observations drawn from Advantive's product teams or customer base.

  • Publication and revision dates stay visible.

The original publication date and the most recent revision date are both shown on every article. Topics that change quickly — AI capabilities, regulatory rules, product roadmaps — are revisited on a tighter cadence than evergreen reference content.

  • Corrections are issued openly.

If a factual error is reported, the article is updated, the revision date advances, and material corrections are noted at the bottom of the article so readers can see what changed and when.
